Most of my work has been based on shapes and colors I find in nature and in everyday life. I work in clay because I enjoy the immediacy of the medium and the countless possibilities it offers of working with it. I also enjoy experimenting with glazes.
One of the qualities of ceramic work I like is that the final look of a piece may be somewhat out of my control as it warps when subjected to high firing temperatures. I also like to experiment and look for new and unconventional way of using the material.
